How to Build an App in 2026 (Even If You're Not a Developer)

With today's AI tools, building an app has never been more accessible. Here's exactly how I built HOOKED.

When people hear that I'm building a dating app, the first question they ask is:

"Are you a programmer?"

The answer is simple.

No.

I'm a founder with a vision.

And in 2026, that's often enough to get started.

For years, building an app meant hiring an expensive development team, raising millions of dollars, and waiting months before you could even see a prototype.

Today, AI has changed that.

You no longer need to know how to write code. You need to know how to solve a problem.

For me, that problem was modern dating.

I looked at today's dating apps and saw the same issues everywhere: endless swiping, ghosting, conversations that never became real dates, and people spending hours on an app instead of actually meeting.

Step 5: Expect Version 1 to Be Imperfect

My Biggest Lesson

Building HOOKED has reminded me that the hardest part isn't technology.

It's having the courage to start.

AI has removed so many barriers that stopped entrepreneurs just a few years ago.

Today, one person with a clear vision can accomplish what once required an entire team.

That's exciting.

The future won't belong to people who know the most code.

It will belong to people who understand problems, move quickly, and aren't afraid to build.
